Kevin Johnson a.k.a “KJ da Assassin” is an American recording engineer and music producer.

At the age of 17, Johnson left his hometown of Washington D.C. and moved to Wilson, NC. Soon after that, he joined the United States Marine Corps which allowed him to travel the world and experience many different cultures.

Once he returned to the U.S. he decided to leave the Marines to pursue his passion for music and audio. In 2014, Johnson enrolled at the world renowned S.A.E. Institute (Atlanta) campus to study audio engineering.

Upon completing his program at S.A.E. Johnson interned at various recording studios around Atlanta and continued making a name for himself as an audio engineer and music producer.

While most of his work centers around hip-hop culture in Atlanta, GA, Johnson enjoys working with music professionals from all music genres because he feels that all music evolves over time based on people and current events.

Johnson describes his engineering style as “mixing with feeling”. He is self-aware as an audio engineer and acknowledges that his purpose is to capture the live event and always wants the audience to feel “the vibe”.

While many audio engineers boast about their skill set and knowledge, Johnson’s abilities bridge the gap where others fall short.

Not only does he adequately capture the performance, he takes an artist’s music from just a song idea to a single.

His years in the Marines left him with many life lessons that play a major role in his life today.

One mantra from his days in the military that has continued into his music career is “one shot, one kill” which he uses frequently to describe his work ethic and his company's one-stop-shop work flow.

Johnson’s philosophy has raised the level of expectation for not only himself but also his clients.
